There's no doubting that Forza Horizon 4 is justifiably regarded as one of the best racing games ever produced, putting a lot of pressure on Forza Horizon 5 to live up to expectations on the fresh new platforms.
Playground Games did an incredible job with the last game, delivering beautiful visuals, eye-opening realism, stunning details, and entertaining gameplay all in one package, going head-to-head with Sony's Gran Turismo Sport over the last four years.
However, Forza has been an Xbox exclusive, whilst the latter is exclusively available on PlayStation. However, Forza Motorsport 4's open-world gameplay gave it the upper hand in the previous game, so, sadly, Forza Horizon 5 PS4 won’t be happening.
Forza Motorsport has always been a game for both casual and experienced gamers, making it immensely accessible to a larger audience and offering delight to players of all skill levels. With over 450 vehicles to pick from in Forza 4, players will be wondering what the new game will bring to the table.
At this time, there isn't a lot of information about Forza Horizon 5.
At this time, there is no word on when Forza Horizon 5 will be launched. Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon are usually alternated every year. As a result, this year's focus will be on the Forza Motorsport relaunch for Xbox Series X|S and PC, while Forza Horizon 5 PS4 has been rumored to launch, it is highly unlikely that will happen as Forza is an Xbox exclusive. The release date for Forza Horizon 5 is expected to be November 9.
The Forza series is the pinnacle of Xbox exclusive games. Forza Horizon 5 will be available for Xbox One, Xbox 360, Xbox One S, and Xbox Game Pass, with a PC version on the way, we have seen Forza Horizon 1 PC download along with FH 2,3,4 downloads available on PC as well, so we should be expecting Forza Horizon 5 to release for PC as well, It should therefore be able to play cross-platform in Forza Horizon 5 through cross-play, as it has been in the past. Multiple fans called for the Forza Horizon 5 PS4 and PS5 versions to be dropped but this is an unattainable reality. Forza Horizon 5 2021 is happening!!!
Of course, the arcade racing game has yet to be priced. Microsoft is expected to release Forza Horizon 5 in a variety of editions:
Xbox Game Pass users will have a particular reason to rejoice, as Forza Horizon 5 will be available for download in the game fixed amount at no additional cost from release, much like any other exclusive title from Microsoft Game Studios.
Forza Horizon 5 is being developed by Playground Games, the company behind all four prior games in the series, and it takes place in a fictionalised version of Mexico rather than the British setting of its predecessor.
With 11 biomes ranging from rainforests to deserts, Playground claims that this new location will be the largest and most diverse open world ever seen in a Forza Horizon game. These locations will also feature the dynamic weather features that were originally introduced in Forza Horizon 4, such as being swept up in a rainstorm while drifting across scorching dunes.
Playground Games has posted an image on its Twitter account that looks to show the complete Forza Horizon 5 map. Although the map is large (in fact, it is the largest and most diversified in the series), the graphic only depicts how it would seem in the summer, with other seasons bringing differing conditions to the many sites that will be explorable across Mexico. The highway that runs from the bottom left of the map to the top right is our favourite; it's the longest in the series.

A Reddit member submitted two pictures to the Forza Horizon Subreddit in early February 2020. These appeared to have two alternative perspectives of the Forza Horizon map. Despite the lack of an official announcement, it is expected that this game will be released in 2021.
As far as we know, this photo was shot during a Microsoft Developer Conference in January 2020, where several developers were expected to reveal fresh details about their future Xbox Platform titles.
The Subreddit administrators erased both of these photos within an hour, and the images that were also uploaded on the Forza Discord were reportedly deleted in seconds.
Please do not consider this as confirmation, since these might be entirely false until Xbox confirms otherwise. The idea of the game being set in Japan has sparked much outrage, and it appears that it may be realised.
Furthermore, it's thought that these aren't all of the routes in the game, but only the primary ones, which won't account for tight city streets or thick mountain roads.
Following the revelation of Forza Horizon 5's complete map, YouTuber and Forza Horizon content producer Don Joewon Song has posted twelve minutes of 4K Forza Horizon gameplay footage to show fans what it's like to explore different areas of the world. There are still some issues with the game that will be addressed before it is released, as shown in the clip.
What is new in Forza Horizon 5? In terms of new features outside of the game's environment, Forza Horizon 5 shakes up the tried-and-true racing formula. Under the umbrella name Horizon Story, the brand is offering a "depth and fulfilling campaign" for the first time, where players will meet new people and decide the result of their missions. Expect nothing on the scale of Uncharted, but it's thrilling to watch the game's creators push the envelope with its newest entry in the series.
Mike Brown, Forza Horizon 5's main game designer, spoke to Eurogamer on the choice to include campaign-style tasks in the game:
They provide us with the chance to show off a number of the game's most interesting features in a well-curated, story-driven environment, he stated.
Many of these things may and will happen organically in free-roam when you're exploring, but this provides a more controlled method of doing so. After each Expedition, you get a new Horizon festival location, which unlocks a slew of additional races.
Horizon Arcade, where players will venture jointly throughout the world to engage in various tasks and small games, as well as Forza LINC, a new AI assistant that will track your state, the people you meet online and help you play together.
EventLab, meanwhile, is a brand-new feature that allows users to build their races, modes, and experiences. We don't know the magnitude of this building tool yet, but we saw bowling pin runs, massive leaps, and massive fans propelling cars into the air during E3, with all these features, one can only dream what the Forza Horizon PS4 and PS5 version would have looked like.
Horizon Tour and Horizon Open will make it easy to bounce in and out of different modes with other players across the world, allowing gamers to “capture the sensation of a car-meet, according to the developer. There are also enhancements to Forza Horizon 4's battle royale mode, Eliminator, where players compete online to stay ahead of the pack and avoid being kicked out.
Both vehicle and character customization have been revamped, with “thousands” more cosmetic and performance enhancements accessible to players at launch. We don't know the entire lineup of vehicles that will be available in the game yet, though the announcement video does show beach buggies, off-road racing, and, of course, supercars.
Forza Horizon 5 is the first game in the series to modify the sound of cars as new upgrades are applied. Upgrades like turbos and superchargers will have a noticeable effect on how your car sounds, which has long been a popular community feature. It’s a shame that the Forza Horizon PS4 and PS5 edition won't be a reality.
Forza Horizon 5 will employ ray tracing to impact the game's soundtrack, which is used all around the world. The game will emit ray-traced audio pathways that can identify walls, buildings, and ceilings, among other things. This means you'll hear the noise of your car's engine bouncing off all the nearby buildings, which may vary based on the surroundings.
According to Playground Games, Forza Horizon 5 will sound fantastic on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. The new consoles enable a new compression format that allows for considerably better fidelity audio, which implies that every part of the game, including car noises, music, and even speech, will sound "cleaner and more polished" on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. Sigh if only there was a Forza Horizon PS4 version.
Forza Horizon 5 will expand on Forza Horizon 4's weather system, making it more dynamic than ever. While the weather in Forza Horizon 4 fluctuates but is universal, the weather in Forza Horizon 5 will vary depending on where you are on the map.
There will be two new weather effects in Forza Horizon 5 as well. Tropical storms and dust storms will be added in episode 2 of the Forza Horizon Let's Go series. You'll even have the opportunity to go storm chasing.
The Mexico region in the game will be divided into 11 biomes, each of which will be influenced differently by the seasons. So, if you're in the jungle during the Spring Season, you could get tropical storms, but if you're in the desert, you'll just get light rain. Because of the cyclical weather, you'll be able to explore regions that were previously inaccessible during the wet season during the dry season. I have a dream; it is to see Forza Horizon PS4 and PS5 become a reality.
…but not for Forza Horizon 5 PS4, is coming to Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Xbox One X, but it seems like it'll truly highlight the capability of Microsoft's latest consoles, the Xbox Series X/S.
The game's website page claims "unparalleled load speeds, graphics, and responsiveness" for Xbox Series X, featuring 4K at 30 frames per second. Both consoles will support 1080p at 30 frames per second, with 60 frames per second performance mode available on the Series S. Although visual ray tracing will be enabled on Xbox One, it will only be available in the Forzavista vehicle viewing mode. Why won't Forza Horizon PS4 and PS5 happen?
